History

The Ashland Symphonic Youth Chorus began in 1990 under the auspices of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra and direction of Sandra Brown.  In 1997 the choir separated from the orchestra to become an independent organization dedicated to the development and growth of the youthful choral voice.  We are in residence at Ashland University and appreciate the University’s valuable support of our program.  Since its inception, the Chorus has involved over 900 students across six choirs.  We are proud to have touched the lives of so many!

About Ashland Symphonic Youth Chorus

The Ashland Symphonic Youth Chorus was established to immerse and educate children in the fine arts through the study and performance of choral music. Our goal is to train young voices so that each child many reach his/her highest potential as a musician and performer. We believe that by providing children with a rich and varied range of musical repertoire, both classical and contemporary, our young singers and our concert patrons alike will find the chorus a truly enjoyable experience!
